Flame Bag

This tote bag is made of layered pieces of pleather that I cut by hand and sewed together. It was made for an apparel class at RISD.  My inspiration was the Persian holiday “Chahar Shanbeh Soori,” where participants jump over an open flame to cleanse themselves and bring in good luck for the new year.
